Design Specialist

Couto Homes is looking for a Design Specialist to guide homeowners through the design and selection process of building their custom home. This role combines creativity, organization, and strong client relationships to help homeowners make confident decisions while keeping their vision, budget, and construction timeline in focus.

What You’ll Do

• Build strong relationships with clients and learn their lifestyle, needs, and design preferences.

• Guide homeowners through selections, finishes, fixtures, and other design decisions throughout the building process.

• Create presentations, drawings, color and mood boards, and other visual aids to help clients envision their home.

• Assist with space planning, layouts, lighting, traffic flow, and other elements that contribute to a functional and cohesive design.

• Help clients understand the cost impact of selections and keep design decisions aligned with their budget.

• Document selections and design decisions accurately for construction and internal teams.

• Coordinate with Project Managers, suppliers, subcontractors, and other Couto Homes teams to carry the design vision through construction.

• Stay current on residential design trends, products, materials, and industry best practices.

Experience in residential design, space planning, homebuilding, or client-facing design is preferred. A strong portfolio of design work is a plus.
