Jose and Iris have been married for eleven years and are originally from Chicago. Over the course of those years, they’ve owned five homes, and never felt in love with a home until they found their Couto Home.Â
Iris first heard about Couto Homes from a coworker who was interested in building. She went home and told Jose about it, and they started playing with the interactive floor plans on the website. They immediately knew that the Marion Executive Series was the one for them. They called and set up a meeting to start the building process and were incredibly excited to find out that Couto Homes had a spec home available in a neighborhood they had been eyeing that just happened to be a Marion Executive Series. As excited as they were to start the building process, to know that their favorite floor plan was so close to completion in a perfect neighborhood seemed almost too good to be true.
They debated moving forward with the building process, but after seeing the details in the spec home, it was love at first sight. It had the open concept they were looking for, a huge kitchen island with an accent blue paint, and a dream master bathroom. It was very important that they have an office space since Jose works from home, and the study was the perfect size.
Iris and Jose love entertaining, and the massive media room was a cherry on top. Jose loves the three car garage which allows him to park his truck, Iris to park her vehicle, room for a third car, and their riding lawn mower and tools without the need for a shed. Another added bonus was that this home was located in the school zone where they plan to raise their future children. They researched school districts when they were planning to build with Couto Homes, and knew they’d want to be within Aledo ISD zoning. While building a dream home can be extremely fun in making modifications and choosing tile and paint and all the other design features, this spec home was like Iris and Jose’s vision was already created for them without having to wait at all. One of the most memorable moments of the purchasing process for Iris was when most everything in North Texas was shut down due to a severe snow storm, Couto Homes was still communicating with her and helping her finalize the steps to closing on her dream home.
Iris finds a lot of joy in decorating, and she changes the décor with every season. She was so excited to get to decorate their new home for Christmas this year. Jose and her are also excited to host their Chicago family in their home this year for the holidays while they cook Mexican and Puerto Rican food. They have a cookie contest each year, and they’re more excited this year than before because of their large island space for everyone! Iris says they would recommend Couto Homes over and over again. And while she still thinks building would have been a lot of fun, she’s happy that she found this home that was already ready for her and Jose.
